This marks the beginning of the very first of many thrift stores under The Free Store Chilliwack’s community umbrella. Our vision is to thoughtfully and sustainably expand to support as many families, communities, towns, and cities as possible, while being intentional in these early steps to honor the process and the community that made this possible.
From this collaboration came something simple, clear, and powerful: The Thrift. A name that feels familiar, grounded, and community-driven — a place where reuse, recycle, and repurpose aren’t trends, but values.
100% of funds generated through The Thrift go directly back into operating The Free Store and supporting people in our community. It is conveniently located right next to our Free Store Food and Community Support building, making it easy to connect, shop, and give back in one visit.

From seasonal specials to curated discounts on clothing, household items, and more, our goal is to make shopping both fun and affordable — all while supporting our community. The heart of The Free Store and The Thrift is our incredible team of volunteers. Their dedication, energy, and compassion make everything we do possible — from sorting donations and running the store, to supporting community programs and connecting with our neighbors. Every hour they give strengthens our community and helps us ensure everyone has access to food, resources, and care.
We couldn’t do it without them — thank you for being the backbone of our mission!
