Our Christmas Pet Food Program in the Lower Mainland fed hundreds of dogs and cats this holiday season, thanks to our generous donors, dedicated volunteers, and the essential support from the G.W. Gram High School Pet Program. Your collective effort and compassion ensured no pet went hungry. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved.

"Christmas Bake Share" rallied our community members to contribute homemade treats for the Christmas Hamper Program. With a collective effort, ovens were busy and batches of goodies were prepared, ensuring a special touch to our holiday hampers. Gratitude to all who participated and baked their part. 

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the Greendale Elementary Gardening Program for their incredible donation of fresh produce to our hamper program. Witnessing the enthusiasm of third graders as they learn about sustainability and our zero-waste efforts is truly inspiring. It's amazing to see their hard work come full circle, teaching them the value of giving and the impact of their efforts on the community.

We distributed over 500 packages of frozen dog food to Indigenous communities, ensuring the well-being of their cherished pets. This impactful initiative was made possible by the generosity of our donors. A heartfelt thank you to all who contributed to this meaningful cause. 

In an effort to provide warmth during the colder months, we distributed essential items like hand warmers, coats, tuques, scarves, and gloves to elders, seniors, and the homeless population. Ensuring their comfort and safety during chilly times was our priority. Gratitude to all who supported this initiative.

Our team distributed over 50 coats to members of our Indigenous communities, ensuring they stay warm throughout the winter months. This initiative was made possible by the invaluable contribution of our donors, who sourced these essential garments. We joyfully distributed over 200 cakes to struggling families, ensuring that everyone could partake in celebrating the arrival of the new year. This endeavor was made possible through the incredible generosity of our donors and the dedication of our helpers who went the extra mile—quite literally—to retrieve the cakes. 

At the Free Store, we are committed to finding creative ways to bring joy and fun to the children in our community. From games and treats to essentials and crafts, we strive to create enriching experiences that foster happiness and connection for our young ones.

Through our gardening program, we walked our Free Store family through learning skills on growing, preserving, and canning food. This hands-on initiative not only promotes self-sufficiency but also ensures that our resources last longer, benefiting our community for the long term. 

During the 2023 wildfire crisis, we distributed emergency hampers to those displaced and affected by the devastating events. These hampers provided essential supplies and support during a challenging time. A heartfelt thank you extends to our dedicated volunteers and generous donors, whose contributions ensured that immediate assistance reached our community members in need. 

In a meaningful collaboration, Indigenous youth learned traditional fishing, smoking, and canning techniques alongside our indigenous partners. Their efforts yielded over 200 cans of fish, which were gratefully shared with community elders, strengthening bonds and preserving heritage.

At our "Sweet Treat Event," we delightedly distributed over 100 cakes and cheesecakes, offering a touch of sweetness to our communities during challenging times. This heartwarming initiative was made possible by the generous contributions of our donors and the dedication of our drivers. 

Our team proudly partnered with various groups to bring wrapped gifts to the children of Indigenous communities. This collaborative effort aimed to brighten their holidays and foster a sense of joy and belonging. Through these meaningful partnerships, we were able to spread cheer and show our unwavering support for the young ones in these communities.

Over 20 enthusiastic youth joined us at the Free Store, immersing themselves in lessons on food sustainability, recycling, and gardening. Their involvement not only fostered valuable skills but also brightened our space with infectious smiles and positive energy. It's inspiring to witness the next generation embrace such vital practices, paving the way for a more sustainable and harmonious community. 

We organized a collection of vital items, including diapers, formula, and food staples, to assist new and struggling moms in our community. We at The Free Store understand the struggles and challenges that come with being a new mom. We extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated volunteers and generous donors whose contributions have made a lasting impact, reflecting the essence of community and care.

We distributed hampers containing essential items like Ensure, canned goods, flour, protein sources, and other necessities to support our vulnerable senior population. Seniors, the backbone of our community, have always been a priority in our efforts. A sincere thank you goes to our donors and volunteers, whose contributions and efforts made this meaningful outreach possible.

Our team and volunteers gave out sweet treats to kids and families, adding some extra joy to their day. Big shout out to the bakers who donated these tasty treats for everyone to enjoy. 

Our "Back to School Food Hampers" event distributed hundreds of nutritious hampers to families in Indigenous communities and throughout Chilliwack. Packed with snacks and easy-to-make meals, we aimed to support children as they began the new school year, ensuring they had nourishing options readily available.

In response to the devastating floods in 2021, we took action, distributing over 100 hampers filled with dry foods, bread, cans, and more to those most affected. This significant endeavor was made possible by the unwavering support of our generous donors and the tireless efforts of our volunteers, ensuring that essential sustenance reached our community members in their time of need. 

We crafted special gift bags filled with gift cards, treats, and more to bring holiday joy to families in Indigenous communities. This gesture aimed to spread warmth and festive cheer during the holiday season.
